The zipper trim/collar construction definitely underwent some radical changes (and improvements!) throughout the division shirt's production usage.
The most notable of these, perhaps, is that when the DS9/NEM division shirts were first introduced in First Contact, they were a far cry from the more refined versions on Deep Space Nine and the (arguably) finalized versions seen in Nemesis in two major ways.
First, in First Contact, the zipper pulls were clearly visible at the top of the collar throughout much of the movie.

Secondly, the ⅜" zipper trim had yet to become standardized, and although it was fairly consistent amongst the main cast, the zipper trims were often quite smaller amongst the supporting cast and extras.

Both of these issues were thankfully resolved immediately upon Deep Space Nine's upgrade to this newer style uniform (with the odd "hiccup" here and there, naturally).
Every now and then, a zipper pull would poke through the trim, but it was a rarity and you probably wouldn't even spot it unless you knew to look for it.

As we mentioned, seeing the zipper and/or its pull tab was a rarity, and right off the bat in Deep Space Nine the zipper trim construction was majorly improved and standardized.

Interestingly, the placement of the zipper seemed to vary a bit over the years; sometimes it appeared to have been a bit lower (Geordi, below left) and sometimes it appeared to be flush or just beneath the top of the collar (Broccoli, below right).
