Another notable characteristic of the DS9/NEM division shirts was the front closure; unlike
the VOY undershirts, which closed vertically in the center back, the DS9/NEM division shirts closed vertically in the front, with ⅜" zipper trim on each side of the front center running the full length of the garment (with the exception of Picard - see our "Exceptions and Oddities, part 1").
This ⅜" zipper trim was stylistically consistent with the ⅜" yoke trim and neckline trim on the
standard duty jumpsuits, "captain jackets," and "captain vests," as well as the yoke trim on the admiral jackets - excellent design complementation and consistency, in our opinion!
