Construction Options

Our DS9/NEM men's division shirt pattern includes an abundance of customization options from which to choose.

There are three main "build" options: the fly onesie, the standard onesie, and the hemmed version.

Each of these "builds" has two zipper trim options: full-length or Picard/partial-length.

And each of those zipper trim options have both an "open collar" construction option and the standard/closed option (the latter for which we have provided four different construction techniques from which to choose, all of which were used on screen-used division shirts at some point or another, along with our recommendations).

Additionally, we have provided both hero and standard collar options (as defined in our analysis), as well as options for full-length sleeves or remaining sleeveless.

For this tutorial, we made three different division shirts with each having a different "mix" of the various combinations of the construction options.

The garment colors in our tutorial will bounce back and forth between the three, but don't be alarmed; the tutorial is comprised of photos of each of the three division shirts above.

There will also be a bit of jumping around depending on the choices you make due to the thoroughness required to provide you with the instructions necessary for all of the available construction options.

Just stick to the instructions when they tell you to skip ahead and discard the odd tidbit you might later find you don't need, and you'll be fine!

There's always a bit leftover, isn't there?
